GDW Yoga

Styles of Yoga Offered by Gail

Kripalu Thai Yoga

A gentle flowing practice designed to create awareness
through the breath and postures. There are three
stages, a willful practice, focusing on alignment,
breath and the presence of consciousness, willful
surrender, relaxing into the opening of the body and
mind, and meditation in motion, awakening the body's
intuition, letting the body tell you what you need.

Downward DogAshtanga

Sometimes referred to as Power Yoga. The common thread between the two is a rigorous workout that develops strength and flexibility. The system is based on six series of asanas (postures) which increase in difficulty, allowing students to work at their own level. You will be led non-stop through the series, encouraged to co-ordinate the breath with the movement from pose to pose. Be prepared to sweat!

Begining Ashtanga

This practice will focus on preparing for the primary series Ashtanga. You will learn proper breathing, abdominal control and outward focus to create an inward practice. This class will incorporate postures not in the primary series, such as inversions, in order to build strength and increase flexability. The pace will be slower than a normal Ashtanga class and we will not complete the sereis in class.

Strength and Flexability Yoga

A practice combining many styles to create a flow that is working the mind and the body, streaching all limits. All levels of ability are welcome, listening to your body is a must, as well as the ability to laugh and be playful.
